NB: Blank means did not play. 0 means no votes.

As proposed in 2009, and not questioned since, the rules for submitting votes for this year (and all years) are:

  • votes must be received by me no later than the first Wednesday after the game
  • votes can only be allocated to a someone who actively participated (i.e. played) in the game

NB: 3, 2, 1 on the voting slips represent the points you are allocating.

I will sometimes refer to this table as Black & Green (or B&G) award. In 2011 the club created an award for the player across all the senior grades in the winter comp considered the most valuable. Our weekly votes play a role in determining who that winner should be.

For more information visit the ‘Ivan Connors’ Black and Green Award page.

There is no right way to vote. “Most Valuable” can mean different things to different people. Obviously performances that contribute to a team’s success or are spectacular in some way, be it in the field or with the bat, should be acknowledged. But sometimes contributions can be less obvious – encouragement to a struggling team mate, backing up plays consistently just in case backup is required, sitting on the bench or moving to a “not favourite spot” fielding position without quibble. Contributions come in may forms.
