For the very “keen of eye” amongst the readers, you will notice the number in the “Rnd” column is now a link. If clicked it will open an ICS file, which is capable of being imported into many calendar applications. The file includes the name of the opposition team, the time & location of the game. It also sets a reminder 2 hours ahead of game time. Depending on the capabilities and configuration of your device / browser, the browser may attempt to download the file or it may attempt to open a calendar.

If you use these files be aware, they are based on the table at the time you use it. I strive to keep the table as accurate as possible. If the association updates the draw subsequent to you downloading and adding them to your calendar, there is no way to update for those entries already in your calendar. In that situation, you need to delete the incorrect entry (or entries) from your calendar and then use the revised files to add the modified details.

Also, I’ve had some feedback about the ICS file. Some calendar applications will treat the game time as UTC (previously GMT) while others don’t. If that happens to you a 12 noon start time game may be in your calendar as 2am start, with an alarm at midnight before the game. Ouch.

For me Google calendar behaves as the ICS standard is defined (at least as I understand it). But I also use the Lightning calendar as part of Thunderbird. It does not follow the format. If I get enough requests (anything above say 1), I will look to make a second file available with the wrong but helpful times in them. You have been warned. Don’t blame me if your alarm goes off at midnight before a game.

Another Ouch: For summer seasons the dates are wrong by 1 year for half the season. I’m working on it. But this is one of the first summer seasons I’ve provided this feature. Like most things on the website it’s always a work in progress.
